As an automobile industry professional I am going to give you some tips on how to save time and money on your next vehicle purchase. I have worked in the automobile industry for almost 10 years and have seen every trick in the book.

5 Quick Tips

Lets face it in todays economy getting the most for your money is every ones goal. Here are some simple steps to get the most for your money.
  • The best time to buy

The last few days of the month!! This is when dealers are trying to finish out their month and usually need a few more units to hit their goal. If you have the patience to wait until the last few days of the month you will save some cash!!
  • Advertised Prices Usually Have Some Room

More so on used cars than on new. That is important to remember. Most of the time new car ads are loss leader cars and there is not much room for negotiation however the used car ads usually have some wiggle room!!
  • Make contact with someone at the dealership before you visit

If you have a contact at the dealership before you visit you will get better service and be more at ease. If you want to find out who the best person to deal with one of the best ways is to ask the receptionist. She usually has the worst job in the store, handling a volume of phone calls daily. If you ask him or her who they would buy a car from you will usually be matched with the salesperson who will give you the most respect for your time and make you a great deal.
  • Be Flexible

You may think that you just gotta have a certain car but if you remain somewhat flexible you can pick up some great deals.

Here is a good example. I recently had a customer that wanted a used Nissan Altima that we just got in. It was a sharp car but the reason they wanted the Altima was to save on fuel. I was able to offer them new Hyundai Sonata for less than $1,000 more than the used Altima and they saved 2% on interest and was able to get the best warranty in America. 100,000 miles!! The overall ownership cost of this vehicle was $3000 less because they were flexible because of the difference in the financing options plus they got a no cost 100K warranty.
